Playing Patience by Tabatha Vargo

Review by Kimmi

Holy Fuck! Why!!!! Why dear Lord baby Jesus!!!! WHY?!? Let me explain the travesty that occurred by allowing this elite superiority to rest for WEEKS on my kindle bookshelf, she was so dusty with electronic dust bunnies, I almost put her back on the shelf, but the cover pulled at me, and I, thank God,  opened her up. Teenage characters! There is my excuse. Yep, that's what held me back, Seriously! This is why I try to not read damn book descriptions, I'm not letting myself judge a book by its cover, instead I let my damn assumptions over ride my gut feelings! No more! I will judge every book, this day forward, by its cover and on my intuition, I solemnly do swear........

Holy hell reading this was like watching my heart be ripped out and screaming bloody murder! <- these were my thoughts by the end of chapter one!!! This story was sooo what I needed, you see I just finished Unbeautifully by Madeline Sheehan, and had myself in a horrid book hangover. However, it didn't last long, and for that I thank you Tabatha Vargo, you pulled me from the depths of despair and gave me even more to despair upon, and I loved every moment of it!

Zeke is a bad boy, a tatt'd up rocker from the wrong side of the tracks, when he isn't drinking enough liquor to numb the pain from his bruises and cracked bones, then he is getting stoned enough to make the ache in his chest left by his mother's death recede. Zeke is the guitar player for his band Blow Hole. And he always has a long line of ladies, err scantily clad loose ladies, that are anxiously waiting to see if he can play their bodies the way he plays his strings, play them well enough to make them scream. Zeke is so damn hot, oh my shitness! He is fuckin hot! He is beautiful, he is broken and he is a mothafuckin bad ass, and I effin LOVED him! Zeke not only piqued my inner smut whore's interest, but also a new inner personality woke up that I was unaware existed in my sick, twisted mind. HOLD THE PHONE PEOPLE, A NEW PERSONALITY IS ABOUT TO BE REVEALED! And she is an even bigger smut whore than, well my inner smut whore, she's Kimmi's inner smutty cougar! YES, Zeke pulled out my inner smutty cougar, and I found that crazy horny bitch dressed like a slut, right there in line with the rest of his groupies, wondering how to go about getting him him to start playing her strings! Shit! Sheesus Christ Cougar! Down girl! I'm trying to write a review here!  Sorry! She came flying out of no where! Lmao. Anywho, I LOVED the parts of the story where you get to read Zeke's POV, it made the story deeper, and added facets that allowed me under the surface and past just the way things seem, I really loved that Tabatha let's the reader get in side his head.

Zeke

Snowflake fell into his life like an angel, too bad there isn't any room in his world for angels,  his life is nothing more than a miserable hell. So, he brushes her off, it seems time and time again. She'll get burned messing with him, and so he returns her to her shiny expensive side of the tracks, time and time again. But this snowflake is built from tougher stuff, he just doesn't see her yet, he sees linen and khaki, not Patience, the shattered and split girl. The girl that has stood in the bowels of hell since her 7th birthday for two things alone, to keep her dying mother happy and in the dark, and keep her sister safe by keeping the attention off of her and on Patience.
Patience is unlike any character I've read, she is soooo strong, yet so utterly broken. She will take on the weight of the world, she would gladly be the only standing solder and still charge full force towards the enemy for those she loves. However her strength wavers and buckles at the smallest threat made her way.

"You know what I am? I'm shattered, that's what I am. There are tiny pieces of Patience scattered all over."
"I'd like a piece of Patience." He reached across the table and ran a finger across my hand.
"I don't know if I can give you a piece."
"Why not?"
"Because I don't know where they are." I felt my self frown at those words.

Snowflake aka Patience

Zeke tries his damnedest to keep this pure as the driven snow girl away and out of his world, but Patience is, well patient. She sees behind Zeke's armor of bad ass, drugs, sex, and rock n roll, she sees good, she is willing to wait him out, as long as it takes. However the more he comes around, and the closer they become, the more her own demons surface, and she realizes she can never be what he needs. Her fears are too strong, and her demons are things like beasts that cripple her, they leave her frozen in fear. This thing that grows between them, it can never grow, hell it can't even be. How can a broken, battered man and a fragile, shattered girl ever come together and be anything other than fractured and damaged? How can they ever be whole........

During this heart wrenching love story you follow the characters through their own personal hell, you are subjected to the terrible abuse that they've lived in for years, you stand at their side and cheer, you sit in the corner with them as they cry. You gain hope for them to lean on one another, to learn how to love and grow, to trust each other and to heal with each other. Each blow Patience or Zeke takes, you witness it and you feel it all the way to your soul. This is a pain filled and emotionally devastating story, and Tabatha Vargo easily hooks you on page one, by chapter two you are so emotionally involved and attached to her characters that you have no other choice but to ride this painful, sad story out until the the very, very end.
I give Playing Patience 5 -just rip my heart out and take a bite- Kimmi stars*****

Restore My Heart by Chelsea Cameron

Review by Kimmi

This was such a beautiful story about a broken girl named Dina, who has repeatedly been dealt shit hands in life. When we first meet Dina, all seems to be going pretty damn well in her life, she has her best friend Maggie that she spends her work days with, and they always squeeze in girls day mani/pedi once a week. However the longer you read, the more you realize, Dina's life is far from heaven, as a matter of fact, she seems sadly like she is in hell, and Maggie is the only brightness in her life. And Dina has been staring at all these puzzle pieces, that once made the picture of her life, for so long now, they all are starting to blur blur together, and she's so tired of it, she finds herself ready to just toss the puzzle in the trash.

Dina

Ryder, ohhhh...... Ladies, Ryder, suave, smexy, fuggin tatt's, fuggin BUILT! Fuggin hot!!! Ryder. He's been playin the field for as long as he can remember, and shit that was the field he loved to play, he and his best friend Brayden restore cars at his restoration car garage, and he has been sippin the high life, the good life for a long time, and he sees no reason to change a damn thing in his life. Then one night Brayden, Maggie, and He end up at Dina's house and she is getting her ass beat down like a grown ass man, but by her boyfriend!
Ryder

Something primal and fierce engulfs Ryder, and he knows come hell's fires, come high waters, he will keep Dina safe, and she will never hurt again. For the first time ever, he has found someone that he will wait forever for, he will be a better person, a better man, it's time for change in Ryder's life, and he is going to make that change, and then he is going to make Dina his.............

I loved it! Quick read, a quick must read! This book has the perfect balance of emotions, it grabs you very early and doesn't let you go, and when it ends, you have the joyful pleasure knowing that Brayden and Maggie's story, is just a click away on amazon, book 2 Salvaged is available! Can't wait!!!!!!
I give Restore My Heart 4.5 Damn I love this book Kimmi stars!!!!!!

Restore Me by J.L.Mac

Review by Kimmi:
Restore Me gathered up 5 -bad ass sequel- Kimmi stars!!!!!

HOLY SHEEEEIT! That was so motherf#%king off the CHAIN, that it was REDIC! Do you hear me!?!?!
Real quick, sorry this review is probably going to be all over the damn place. My mind is running 90 to nothing with adjectives and expressions to explain the absolute effin AWESOMENESS that this book is!
Insert * Now, if you have not read Wreck Me, book 1 of this series by  JL Mac stop reading this review NOW! Seriously! STOP!  Do not Pass Go, Do Not collect 200$, you take yourself to the nearest book store or computer to get your ebook of Wreck Me NOW!
Ok, where to start? I refuse to even hint at any spoilers so my review is mostly going to focus on what this book did to me, my mental status (which was already shaky from Wreck Me, lets be honest here!), and the physical and emotional turmoil this story wretched from my soul! You already know Jo's life has always been just shit, you got the jest of that from Wreck Me, and I'll be damned if the fates haven't taken enough away from her and wrecked enough havoc in her life, those effers still are not done! Karma is a wicked bitch to  Jo and she apparently hasn't gotten the memo that she HAS HAD ENOUGH! The story starts off where Wreck Me ended, and I shit you not I cried the first 2 chapters, sobbed, ugly, I mean UGLY cried, yeah, snot, the whole nine. Then I thought I saw a glimpse of hope, to have my heart shredded again. If I was Jo, I'd just quit, sometimes life's just not worth it and I'd be sayin' "Yeah I just would rather not, peace out!"
Jo

But that's not how our Jo is, she is, just as she always has been a strong, bad ass chick, and when life has her down about as far as she can get, she just says "Time to stop whining and make shit happen." Hell she's done it once, she'll do it again.

Oh look another insert!
* Seriously gals, in the world of sequels and the "next book" we have been living in. The world where we awaited anxiously for the up coming new released sequel, only to begin them and realize it was an utter waste of energy because the book we had been waiting for was waa waa waa, FAIL! *
This sequel was a breath of fresh air, by chapter two I actually let out a breath I didn't know I was holding in! This sequel is a sequel of freggin EPIC proportions, it was EVERYTHING I wanted it to be, it was everything and more. Was it hard to read, yes. But there has ever been anything easy in Jo's life so far, so why would it be in the sequel? The highs and lows on this mind, heart twisting roller coaster had me all over the damn place. However with all that being said, It was nothing short of perfect, splendidly, agonizingly, PERFECT!
Damon

And are you ready for the best? IKR?!?! Yeah, there's more, Ladies!!! I have a sneaky suspicion that Restore Me isn't the last we will be seeing of this balls to the wall series! JL Mac is such a lovely and giving author, and also a diabolical mastermind that leaves us ecstatic and screaming WHAT?!?!  &  Oh God WHY!?!?! All in the same chapter!

Now, Go, commence forth my  JL Mac lovers and my review readers, go mark your damn calenders right now, begin the count down Ladies!  Restore Me is coming April 30th !  And also, do what I did and re-read Wreck Me. We'll call it your homework ;  )

Oh My God Becky! Look at her Blog! It is SO big! Isn't it so round? It s just out there? Haha! No it's not big, and no it's not out there, but it still got the J.L.Mac baby! For not only an author interview but also Kimmi's review of Restore Me

Unbeautifully by Madeline Sheehan

Review by Kimmi

I am going to somehow try and explain the absolute immensity and magnitude of utter fucking awesomeness this book is. And as hard as I will try, I know I will probably come up short in helping you grasp how imperative it is that you read this damn book, and yes I said and meant.....Imperative!

Ohhhhh my fucking Shitness! Hoooly fucking hell!!!! I freaking loved it!!!! I wanted to take it slow, and let us learn about each other, marinate in it, soak it all in. With Undeniable, I flew through it, one sitting, Bam! Then sat there forever in a daze like, well now WTF am I supposed to do? So when I began Unbeautifully, I knew we needed to go slow, get a good calm foundation before this relationship could get any deeper, or it would leave me just as devastated as Undeniable did. However, something happened less than 15% in, you see, I fell in love, yes I know it was way too soon for me to be throwing my heart out there but I didn't give a shit! I LOVED IT!!!! I wanted to marry it, build a house with it, I wanted to make little Unbeautifully babies with it!!!!! Grow old and sit on the front porch sipping sweet tea with it! Then die of old age and be buried side by side with it....... Madeline Sheehan, you clever thing you! You captured me with Undeniable, but with Unbeautifully I submissively gave you my mind, heart, and soul, and I'd have given you my body if I could! But let's be honest then things between us would just be awkward.......*laughs*

Unbeautifully begins where Undeniable left us off, except the POV of the characters include Danny, Deuce's daughter, and Ripper, Deuce's sergeant of his MC, and the love story between Danny and Ripper. Their love is one that crosses the lines, it breaks boundaries of not just time, and love, but of laws, unwritten laws between brothers that you don't cross with out being killed. Their love story is the furthest thing from beautiful, like the scars that mar Danny's heart and the scars that mar Rippers skin, their story is ugly, raw, and flawed. But it's theirs, it is perfectly and wholly theirs.

"Baby," he Sid gruffly. "Man like me got no business with a girl like you. You're nothin' but fuckin' beauty and I'm a whole lot of fuckin' ugly who's already halfway to hell."

What sets Madeline Sheehan apart from others is her unwillingness to sugar coat, she doesn't paint in pretty colors and she doesn't sprinkle shiny and fluffy words, that's not her style, not the story she writes, not the tale she wants us to hear. Hers is a story that is hers and hers alone, and it will get ugly, it will get down right bloody, dirty, and when you want to turn away, when it seems too much, she grabs you by your throat, she never pulls a single punch, and she drags your ass through it all the way until the end, while you just sit in awe, in wonder, how in the hell she just took all that filthy, gritty ugliness and turned it into something Unbeautifully perfect. Even while you flinched, every time she had you sobbing, or wanting to look away, at the end you really gotta give credit where credit is due, you wanna tip your hat, bow your head a bit, and say, very well played Madeline, very damn well played. I have been check mated and it was fucking awesome and I wanna do that shit again and again and again! And then you find yourself awkwardly in love with an author, and it's a bit unsettling but you can't help it, ehhh, just fall, shhh, everyone else did do, we won't tell ..........

Hell Fuck Yeah! I give Unbeautifully 5 you-met-all-my-expectations-and-more-and-I-effing-thank-you-for-it! Kimmi stars! *****

Blind Obsession by Ella Frank

 Review by Kimmi

Alright, I think I can write this review now and make some sort of sense out of my cluttered heart, mind, and emotions. I really had no idea what the hell to expect going into this book, I watched a YouTube book trailer and had a good friend of mine recommend it, then I just dove the hell in! And Holy Shit! Ummm, Kimmi starts singing (hey don't talk shit, you don't even know, I have a voice like an angel,jk) Now, for my song:  Welcome to the Hotel California, and I was thinking to myself this could be heaven or hell. Such a lovely place, such a lovely face. You can check out any time you like, but you can never leave. This song flooded the pages of this book in my mind.

Gemma gets the chance of a life time to go to France, stay in the beautiful Chateau Tibideau, and have her journalism career burst on the scene, and finally make a name for herself. She has been given the awesome opportunity of staying with the enigmatic Artist Phillipe Tibideau and learn the man behind the scandal that is on the front page of every magazine.

Phillipe Tibideau

"Don't let them make a villain out of you. Don't let them break you." But Phillipe knows you can't break a man that's already broken.......... When she left him, he lost everything. His soul, his heart, they didn't belong to him, not from the moment their eyes met the first time. She ensnares him, enthralls him, enraptures him, before she even speaks. He knows that he can never loose her, ever. If he were to loose her he would be nothing, not even a full shell of himself, for the rest of his life. This absolutely heart wrenching tale is the beginning of a tragic love story, and the complete ending of a man. He walks the halls of the Chateau, he may roam the land and the old dying vineyard, but he isn't here, he hasn't been since her...........

Gemma finds herself falling quickly down into a rabbit hole, her mind is screaming at her to turn around and run, but the ghost of the man before her, the man with the most devastating story ever to be told, keeps her under his spell, in awe. She wants to pull him back from the depths of his dark hell, she wants to love him, belong to him, she wants to completely drown in him. However Phillipe is quiet content with in the walls of this place, this hell of his. And he plans on staying, preferably alone........ Will he pull Gemma down into his depths of hell with him? Hold her there, and make her stay unlike she did? Or is Gemma brave enough, strong enough, to pull back the layers of a broken and shattered man, and piece the fragile slivers left behind back together? Can Gemma show him how to love, live again?
This erotically stunning novel was hella mothafuckin HAWT! Whew! I'd like to add here that, uhh yeah, our boy Phillipe, has one of my most favorite qualities! A dirty fuckin mouth! Hot as Sin!  Hmmm hmm Ladies, grade A, hot, alpha, broken man!

This story was thrilling, mystifying, and dammit was it intriguing! I was blown away by Ella Franks fantastic story telling, her style and grace sucked me in, and I couldn't get out of the damn slippery hole Ella Frank threw my ass in! Just kidding, you know I jumped in that shit ;  )  Ella Frank's use of descriptive words to create this magical and erotic world is captivating and it leaves you able to check out anytime, but you can't ever leave.............  So I give Blind Obsession 5 Erotic, hot as hell, & WTFH is happening? Kimmi stars! *****

Worlds Apart by Kate Mathias

 Review by Kimmi

Yeah, sorry. You see I started this book and I thought what I was reading was another one of a million other books we buy for our Kindle because, well shit it's safe. The cover had no alarms or red flags flying up in my head. The beginning was perfectly what I expected. Boy meets girl, Girl meets boy. They have a date, a beautiful first kiss, fall in love, ahhhh, swell! Que the doves, the band, and Hap, Hap, Happily Ever After, **sighs** Yeah, no.

> I'd like to make a quick observation here, if you by chance ever find yourself in a just peachy keen, the whole world is full of rainbows and butterflies. The wedding was splendid, and twins on the way. Aaaaaannnd you look down at your kindle during your happily ever after, and you are only 20% of the way in, heed Kimmi's warning children, THE SHIT IS 'BOUT TO GO DOWN.........When I got to this HEA point, then started the next chapter,  I said "Hold up! WTF?!?! Oh hell no, the printing company has lost their damn mind and mixed books together or something...." Kimmi commenced on the most confusing 4 hours of my life, and it's not the authors fault, no. Her story telling is superb! Fantastic, rich.
Joe
It's just that I was on this ride, riding and humming along, and then all of a sudden my ass is on a different ride that is cross between magic mountain, the Titan, what ever other AWESOME ass roller coaster you can imagine! And it was soooo damn FUN! I want to tell you a description of this book, but I'm sorry I refuse, I want you to read this the way I did, with your eyes wide shut. Because when Kate Mathias flips the script and you find yourself ass over tea kettle, I don't want you to have any land marks, I have supplied enough in this review. I will however, remind you that I have NEVER steered you wrong. And everything I say in my reviews, you get it, you know what I'm trying to express about a book. Please, do yourself a favor and read this story, you will love it. I give Worlds Apart 5 WTFH was that? Kimmi stars ***** Also, newly released, book 2 in this series Hiding in Plain Sight! Now available! Woohoo! I haven't read it yet, however it is in my line up, but Kate Mathias told me it kicks off quick! And by the raving reviews *squeals* I am SO excited to start it!
