Release Day: Her Dragon To Slay by Julia Mills

Since 1800 a dragon had been wondering the world protecting his clan from the threats of numerous enemies.  Dragons are merged with virtuous warriors and passed through the male bloodlines so the last of their people may be always protected; Rayne MacLendon is one of these dragon shifters. A great warrior in his own right he lives to protect his clan and has done so the last 119 years with the powerful red dragon inside him. But lately the dragon has wanted to control to seek something and Rayne cannot figure out what it is until one night his dragon roars free to claim what the Universe had gifted them for their long years of service- their mate.
Left as a orphan as a small child to be raised by her healer Grandmother Kyndel had always felt different from the kids at school and to the time to absorb all the knowledge her grandma had to offer about healing and herbs instead. Having only one friend in the world, Kyndel  excelled at keeping to herself and committing herself to her own garden. There are no such things as coincidence as fate will not be ignored and places Kyndel where it needs her so an incredibly beautiful and strong dragon commander can find the peace only she can offer him.
This begins the magical journey for a wounded warrior and a lovely human alone in the world to find their chance at peace and love even with enemies threatening to destroy that love at every turn. Fate will not be ignored; their passion cannot be tamed but are they strong enough to stand against an ancient betrayal?

I loved this book and was drawn in from the first page. Rayne is a beautiful soul and the love he holds for his mate is etched in his every action. Kyndel  has her own strength and fire that makes her a hero in her own right and not a damsel in distress. The sparks between alpha male and headstrong female ignite every page. Not only is Kyndel  Rayne’s hope but her presence brings hope to Rayne’s fellow Dragon guards that after all the fighting and all they’ve given up perhaps the universe still holds a wondrous female for them as well. The devotion and respect between the guards and their commander’s mate is beautiful and her concern for them is so deeply touching.

This is a hot start in a series from a new author. I can’t wait to see what else is in Julia’s mind for the group of brave dragon guards who fight to protect their family without asking for anything for themselves. I would and have recommended this to numerous friends. It’s a great mix of fantasy, sex, and action. I give this book 5 Stars!

The Dark Light of Day by T.M. Frazier

Review by Kimmi:
Fuck me seven ways from Sunday... It's been a long time since I've read a book that ripped me through the emotional and mind fucking roller coaster of that magnitude. From page one T.M. Frazier was evoking sick and twisted feelings of perverse happiness through bloody lips, blackened eyes, tempered fists, and blistered skin. Every scar that marred the characters flesh and souls was the reckoning for the pain and anguish I wanted inflicted upon the system, the neighbors, and the debts of society that stood by and watched the hellish sadness that was Abby and Jake's broken childhood continue.
Things that even Mobsters and career criminals would flinch at, were Jake's and Abby's Tuesday fucking morning.
While one excepted the devil within with open arms, the other shut down and succumbed to numbness. Through their own defense mechanisms each battled their way through a childhood that would even have Satan shuttering in disgust.
At seventeen and twenty-two can Jake and Abby make two broken halves a whole?
And if not then what happens when they find themselves screaming,
"Motherfucker, I ain't got nothing left lose!"?
Page to page had me strung out on different emotions. From tears, to gagging, to fierce protective instincts for for Abby and Jake had me awake until well after 4am with a book that I couldn't put down had my life depended on it. To say T.M. Frazier's debut novel The Dark Light of Day was one of the debuting novels of the year isn't strong enough to convey how damn kick-fucking-ass this story was, but for the lack of better words here, we'll roll with it.
This book sucks you in and doesn't let you go, even well after The End...
The Dark Light of Day gets 5-Fuck-me!-That-Was-A-Debut-Novel?-Kimmi Stars  ☆☆☆☆☆

Into the Heart of Desire by S.H. Pratt
Book Blurb:
Aislinn Jane O’ Rourke, AJ to her business associates, was tough. She was known to be the strongest and most brutally honest negotiator in the state with rigidly upstanding business ethics and high morals. Anyone who knew Aislinn
knew she was formidable and powerful. The standard to which Aislinn led her business was the standard to which she led her life. Men were unnecessary and unable to satisfy her mentally, emotionally or sexually. As one of Seattle’ s most
eligible and wealthy, Aislinn preferred a low profile, free of the entanglements that
men represented.
Jacoby Weston was a confident man, arrogantly secure in his prowess, who liked a challenge. Many things challenged Jacoby… the daily running of his business, the negotiation of life with a broken and dysfunctional family… but
women did not challenge him. Women were a pleasant diversion but never for more than one night in his basement. Until he met Aislinn O’ Rourke during negotiations for a choice piece of property that he wanted.

Fascinated by her intelligence, her ethics and her incredibly sexy body, Jacoby met the challenge that Aislinn presented with an uncharacteristic fervor.
The more she rebuffed him, the more he wanted her. Upon the conclusion of their
business deal, Aislinn and Jacoby negotiate a new deal - a deal with higher stakes than either expected…their hearts.
With the paparazzi stalking them, their pasts looming over them and mysterious events that unsettle them, Aislinn and Jacoby struggle to keep their budding relationship from being destroyed while trying to control the intense, pulsing desire that drives it. Can Aislinn and Jacoby negotiate the challenges of a relationship without compromising their hearts?

LipSmacking GoodBooks presents the Cover Reveal for Crave by Ty Langston

Crave by Ty Langston

As a reporter for the Wakefield Post, Harper Erkstine has seen everything. From murders to robberies, all of her recent stories have ended with tragic consequences so great, that she began to question if she made the right career choice for herself.
While all of her friends were dating, or going to clubs, she was winning journalism awards for covering the latest drive-by shooting or a home invasion that cost someone she knew, their lives.
She loved her job, it was rewarding to be a crime solver and get to the truth of the matter. As much as she loved her job, but the hours of a Metro beat reporter began to descend her into burn out mode.
She craved balance. A break, a welcome distraction every now and then. She forgot what it was like to have fun, to take a breath, smell the roses.
Was it wrong to want a great career and to have some kind of a personal life? She couldn't remember the last time she had a date or danced with someone from the opposite sex.
In the middle of working on a missing persons story that has rocked her town to the core, Harper decides as a favor to her friend and colleague to do a feature on local an up and coming rock band, called Crave.
It was a break from her routine, but Harper soon discovers that this band may have ties to the missing person, not only does she question why, but she also finds there is more to this band than just their music.

Excerpts 1 & 2:
As she rolled into the driveway, she grabbed the blue folder and CD from the glove compartment. Her condo was on the outskirts of town. It was close enough to run errands, yet secluded enough to give her some much needed privacy as warranted. She was grateful that the only people that knew where she lived were her family and Ellen. If her boss Ross knew, all bets would be off.
She got out of her car and unlocked her front door. Dark and quiet, she was relieved when she turned on the lights that everything was where she left it. Weary, she placed her keys down on the table by the door and threw her coat onto the sofa.
She glanced at the empty fireplace and book that lay near the table. Not our night book, maybe tomorrow? Tell you, the things I do for my friends. She mumbled while she found herself in the kitchen opening up the refrigerator door.
She'd need to order food. The fridge was as barren as a dessert with the exception of some expired milk and yogurt that had probably been in there since early summer.
Grabbing a menu she ordered her favorite take out from China Queen and placed Crave's CD into her player. She plopped herself on the couch, it was a little after 5:30 and according to Ellen, the band's set wouldn't start until 8:50 so she'd have time to rest a bit since Star 80 wasn't that far from her condo.
The opening riffs of the guitar coming from her stereo system gave her not only second wind, but also filled her thoughts of the lead singer's whose striking good looks virtually leapt from the photograph and into her stream of unconsciousness. As her eyes closed, Cass's voice filled the family room with an infectious stir. Ellen was right. The voice was so intoxicating that one could get drunk from listening to him. If he could do this with his voice, what in hell could he do with the rest of his body?
She began fantasize about seeing him onstage, his muscles ripped and sweat was coming out of every pore, dripping off his bare chest and defined abs. Suddenly, he slinked towards her, his voice begged. "Come to me. Come to me."
His eyes seared through her body. Everything from the top of her head to the tips of her toes began to simmer into a slow burn. The more she listened to his voice, the more engaged she became. Just one touch. Her fantasy was so vivid.  She envisioned him walking towards her across the stage, his eyes, forever locked into her gaze.
"Miss, Miss." a person yelled followed by several loud knocks at the door. Harper startled awake and stumbled towards the door to open it.  In front of her was a small, elderly man with silver hair, who greeted her with a large bag.

"You order Chinese, miss?"

Harper smiled as she took the bag from him. "Yes, I did," she replied, inhaling the mix of Wonton Soup and Chicken Lo Mein. "How much do I owe you?" she asked while she pulled out a couple of twenties from her jeans pocket. "Thirty." He answered in a distinct accent. She had ordered enough food to last her for a couple of days for fear her schedule would be just as bad, if not worse than it already was. Starved, she gave him the money along with a tip and closed the door shut.

Excerpt #2
Harper wasn't in the mood to be bothered. She wanted to watch the performance, interview the band, talk to them about Darien, go home and go to bed. "I've been here before." She said with an abrupt tone, while she began to study her notes. She had hoped if she did that, he'd get the message to leave her alone.
Placing her soda on the counter, the bartender said. "Really? I've been here for years and never saw you once."
His hot glare nearly made her vomit. All of a sudden, she felt dirty. She tried hard to concentrate at the tasks in front of her.
Before she looked at the stage, she noticed the bartender continuing to stare at her as if she were a late night snack. "Well then, I guess you should look harder." she retorted.
She took out a $10 bill and placed it on the bar. It seemed to do the trick. The bartender went quietly to the register, got her change and placed it besides her glass.
And then it happened.
The lights went down. The crowd that was laughing, talking and mingling with one another was hushed into dead silence; turning their focus onto the front of the stage.
The first few bars of the anthem, "Rock me" gradually blared its way louder and louder.
And there he stood wearing a pair of black leather pants that hung low on his waist along with a long sleeved black mesh shirt, whose buttons, by most females in the audience, were grateful to have been unbuttoned.
After getting focused on the crowd, his brown eyes locked firm with hers, seemingly burning a hole into her soul. The photograph didn't do him justice. Everyone was correct, Cass St. Marie was exquisite.
"Good evening." He told the crowd in a deep, southern drawl that reminded her of the day she first tasted her father's favorite bourbon. It was sweet, delicious and full of body.
The more she heard, the more she wanted. It was heaven on earth.
He had only said two words and Harper and the rest of the audiences found themselves swooning despite him not singing a single note. His southern drawl and shoulder-length brown locks were enough to put any woman over the edge. His lips curved into a smile and the crowd erupted.
"Guess you're here to see us play, huh?" he quipped.
