Sydney DeCarlo has a dark past, one she prefers to keep in the past. She’s a survivor and has made her living counseling kids who have also survived the same nightmare. When the FBI and NYPD call her in to assist on a case, her past comes roaring back.

Enter Detective Gabriel Torres.

Gabe is talk, dark and handsome and immediately feels a connection with Sydney. She’s been called in to assist in the investigation of raped and murdered young women and he’s not sure she’s the right person for the job.

But Sydney’s connection to this case is more than anyone could ever imagine. Can Gabe save her from her past? Or will her nightmare be the death of her?

Once in a while you come across a book that takes you by surprise... Reprisal was one of those books. I loved it!!! A bit on the dark side, with a good dose of suspense thrown it, a hot alpha male, and a leading lady that was stronger than you can ever imagine = fantastic read!!!

Reprisal is the story of Sydney and Gabe. Sydney has a tortured past. The stuff that this poor woman endured is enough to make you cringe. And her will to rise above it made me want to jump up and cheer.

Gage was delicious. A man that knows what he wants, but has the presence of mind to be patient in his endeavors. Perfection.

From the moment I opened this book, I was caught in its trap. Reprisal spins a web around your mind as you are trying to figure out what is going on. There are hints of the tainted past that makes you scratch your head wondering what in the world id going on. And just when you think you have it figured out, the author takes a left turn and sends you in another direction. And as the pieces of the puzzle begin to come together, you get hit again with something that right out of left field.

This story was so well woven I never did quiet figure out what was going on. And right up to the last paragraph, you find a bit of a quick turn. I loved it, and in the end, I found I wanted more. I have a bit of a book hangover... please let there be a follow up book.
