Oh wow.... I was not sure what to expect with this one, but am I ever glad I took the chance!

I love to read books that are out of the box. Not your normal when John meets Jane. And this bundle delivered! Now, I must warn you, if you are sensitive to taboo reads, then this one is not for you!

Caroline is a 30 year old married woman. Married to a high ranking military man, locked in a loveless marriage. She has no real life of her own, and her days consist of tending to her husbands every need and dancing around his moods. Living with a bully of a husband, Caroline is sad and lonely. She has resigned herself to a life of servitude and feeling unappreciated.

Sebastian is a 17 year old high school student. The son of the commander, he has expectations put on him, goals created for him, and a life planned out by a domineering father and a drunk mother. With ideas and wants of his own, he is a constant disappointment to parents that care little about him, and endures physical abuse from his overbearing father.

When Sebastian is 8 years old, he meets 22 year old Caroline. As Caroline introduces him to Italian, and Opera, and the love of reading, his 8 year old self decides that there is no other woman for him besides Caroline. But fate takes her across country, and all he is left with is memories. 10 years later, Caroline returns. And she runs into a grown up Sebastian. As they begin a friendship, feelings become involved, love blooms, and life changing choices explode and alter the paths of everyone involved.

This is such an amazing story. The feelings that coursed through me raged from one extreme to another. I found myself cheering for Caroline and Sebastian to finally get together. I wanted them to have their Happily Ever After. There was just enough angst to keep you on the edge of your seat and turning pages. And the twists and turns and road blocks that showed up had me chewing my nails and talking to the pages. And I shed a few tears.

Caroline was a fantastic leading lady. She had strength hidden in the depths of her soul that she didnt know existed. And when push came to shove, she persevered and did what she had to do. When her world exploded, she found a way to put the pieces back together and move on.

Sebastian was amazing. His ability to love and his loyalty were unbelievable. He was his own person, not afraid to go after what he wanted, and didnt care what the rest of the world thought. He started out shy, and unsure, but as he grew up, he grew into a self assured, take charge man. I adored him.

Even though this was not a cliff hanger, it left me wanting more. I want to know how the rest of their lives play out. The epilogue tied everything together, and there were no loose ends. But I have a major book hangover right now, and I want more.
